Electronic catalogue is a main information research instrument

In our library you can make research in Electronic catalogue. 

In the library the catalogue is main means of access to the library’s stocks and provides necessary information.

In SI "Centralized Library System of Ust-Kamenogorsk” the Electronic catalogue has been working since 2000y.

The catalogue includes the following kinds of literature: books, periodicals, booklets, CD, video and also literature issued in the Russian, Kazakh and English languages and is more convenient in researching materials kept in the main stocks of SCL, SCHL, library-branches
The consultant of the catalogue room helps you to find a document in the database of the library..

The Electronic catalogue contains the following database(DB):

• DB “Books in the Kazakh language”
• DB “Books in the Russian language”
• DB “Articles in the Kazakh language”
• DB “Articles in the Russian language  
• DB “CD”
• DB “Video cassets”
• DB “Electronic book” and so on.





Research in electronic catalogue

Can be made according to:
- Author
- title
- key words
- person
- geographical rubric

Today Electronic catalogue includes:

- books:

6185 items in Kazakh;
31073 items in Russian;
300 items in English;

280 in BD “Electronic book” is a unique possibility of the electronic catalogue of our library, it gives an opportunity to observe the full text of the information and to print it.

- articles:
27989 items in Kazakh;
40242 items in Russian.

The Electronic catalogue shows the collection of the library’s stocks and informs the readers about newarrivings very fast.

The list of literature can be printed.




EKO Corporative Library Net

The Central City Library is a participant of regional Corporative Library Net, which was created in April of 2002 on the base of 5 libraries: EK branch RSTL, SCL of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Technique Library of “Kazzzink” of Ridder, Technique library of “UMP”, Science Library of EKSTU after Serikbaiev.

The Corporative Net’s tasks:
• creating a corporative library net to improve service for the reader;
• rational means expense;
• reducing labour expenditure for the labour intensive processes;
• working out common standards of document description to provide exchanging;
• placing the electronic catalogue in the Internet to increase the number of the corporative catalogue’s users;
• electronic document delivery among the libraries- participants of the Regional Library Corporative Net.
