Information Resources

In the collection of Centralized Library System there are 3888 892 copies. Every year new editions are purchased .
The most valuable items are references for children and adults : encyclopedias, all kinds of dictionaries, guide books about countries and cities.
The libraries have a range collection of art literature, which consist of rich information about lives and heritage of the great artists, musicians and dancers. Also, there are collections of fiction literature- collection of Kazakh, Russian, Foreign literature, modern writers works as well.
In the funds there is rich collection of editions devoted to the nature, history, economy and culture Kazakhstan Republic and our region. The libraries provide the users with huge collection of fiction literature written by poets and writers of East Kazakhstan and Ust-Kamenogorsk. There are many unique editions among them.

Periodicals:

In the second half-year of 2009 the branches of CLS receive 502 names of periodicals. Republic editions-277, 158 of them are in the Kazakh language.

Calendar of Memorial Dates

Edited every year. Special place takes dates connected with historical and cultural events of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The Calendar consists of two parts : general names of the dates and references to them. The calendar is distributed to library-branches and sold to everybody who wants to buy.



Electronic Catalogue


Electronic catalogue is the main tool in information search.
Since 2000 Central library( headquarter of CLS) has been working with electronic catalogue.
Electronic catalogue is constituent part of reference system of the library. In the catalogue the user can find bibliographical descriptions of the periodicals’ articles, books, CD and video materials. Search of literature can be in Kazakh, Russian and English.



Database “Paragraph”
The Central Library provides its users with law reference system “Paragraph”. The Base contains texts of normative documents, commentaries of legislations made by famous lawyers- scientists and specialists, the court decisions, court experience surveys, international documents, law projects and other references.

The Database contains dozens of papers, essays and reports: in the field of Jurisprudence (Science of Law, Theory of State and Law, History of the State and Law, Criminal Law, Constitution Law, Civil Law, Administrative Law, Criminal and Procedure Law and others.);
