Projective and program activities

Among “Knigolub”’s actions a number of grants projects were realized:

2001 - “Information resources on job providing for unemployed middle-aged women” seminar. Action was carried out by library #1 within “Zubr” SKF summer school program in association with “Soros Kazakhstan” Fund.

2002 – Creation of “Centralized Library System online” site. Granted by IREX. Realized by Central Municipal Library.

2003 - “Informative and Entertaining Activities in the System of Teens Moral Education” project was realized by Library #2. Granted by “Soros Kazakhstan”.

2003 - “CLS Online” presented the Kazakh version of its web site. Realized by Central Library. Granted by IREX.

2003 – 2004 – “Friends” Woman’s self-enhancement project. Realized by Library #2. Granted by “Cordade”.

2004-2005 – “Actual Information for Teenagers”. Realized by library #2. Granted by USAID.

2005-2006 – “Medinform”. Actual information about free medical treatment and tuberculose’s early diagnostics for citizens.

2006 – Joint project along with “Emerald Town” Public Fund. Financed by EKO’s Internal Policy Department.

2007 – “Painter Godovsky’s master class”. Organized along with Public Political Analysts and Analytics Association of Eastern Kazakhstan.

2008 – “Medinform -2”. Kazakhstan First President’s Fund.

 

Central Children’s Library

 

“Window on the Outer World” Program

(It is socially psychological program for disabled children.)

Central Children’s Library:

Library devotes special attention for enhancing skills of children with disabilities. Library has relations with “Special Kid” Organization. We arrange many actions together. Since 1999 “Gnezdyshko” club started its operation. 18 children attend the library events with their parents. Meetings occur monthly and include educating lessons as well as entertaining ones.

Library has got magnificent cultural, developing and intellectual potential in order to help children with disabilities to be involved into today’s society. It contributes to their worthwhile everyday life in the modern world. That is the specific objective of this program.

Library is a Centre of Gender Education

Library #1

Purpose of the Program:

Enhancing law knowledge, raising awareness and activities of women from city’s districts.

Priorities:

  • Exploring the woman’s needs for information
  • Creating the information assets on the questions of woman’s law knowledge, health insurance and children’s education issues

Library #2

- Library work experience in ecological enlightening and education
- Availability of necessary literature and periodicals
- Informative and technical equipment
All these factors allow talking about more potentialities in creation specialized ecological library – a centre for education and information which is available for all concerned.

Center of the Local Lore Information

Library-branch # 3

As East Kazakhstan Oblast is an industrial, science, historical and cultural region it has a great volume and various information about the region. One of the main problem of regional library study of local lore is to organize readers’ serving on the base of new information technologies, to automatize bibliography local lore documents, to create local lore base of data and corporative electronic resources.
